Universal Design techniques are essential in you kitchen remodeling project. They are not just for folks with physical challenges, but rather, they create a space that is accessible to all ages and adaptable through time. In our latest Yorktowne Kitchen design, we incorporated Universal Design techniques that include but not limited to:
- Drawers instead of doors
- Soft close drawers
- Soft closed doors
- Height of Microwave is lowered
- Up to 42″ clearance around Cabinets
- Low or no thresholds between rooms
- Oven controls on front of the oven
From a young child to an older adult to folks with physical and health challenges, it is essential to incorporate Universal Design techniques especially with our trend in staying in our homes for longer periods of our life.
